Rebecca "Becca" Begnaud

Becca Begnaud is a healer in the ancient Cajun tradition known as traiteurs, or treaters. For centuries traiteurs practiced their blend of herbal cures, healing touch and prayers in Acadiana's rural settlements. Today, Becca keeps the tradition alive as both a practitioner, teacher and advocate of the healing arts.

Three particular avenues inspire her unique perspective. First, traiteurs aren't made, they're given the gift by another traiteur — but Becca's gift for healing wouldn't stop with tradition. Second, she holds qualifications as a Reiki Master, Healing Touch Practitioner and in Trauma First Aid. Third, Becca is a mental illness and breast cancer survivor. Aspects of her experience as patient, student and master can be seen in all of her work.

Becca routinely speaks to cancer groups, hold spiritual demonstrations and practices her healing arts with people throughout south Louisiana. You'll find her on stage, introducing artists each year at the world's largest, free, French-speaking music festival, Festival International de Louisiane.

Becca's work will be available in English and French in late 2011. Subscribe to Corvus Press news updates for the most recent news on her books and more.
