Jane Blunschi
Love, Tupelo
Jane V. Blunschi is a writer and student living in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her creative influences include roots music, magic realism fiction, the paintings of Frida Kahlo and specialty meats. The aim of her work is to reveal the glorious eccentricities of the South, produce exquisitely humorous fiction and write colorfully ever after. Jane credits the effects of growing up “Steel Magnolias” in north Louisiana for her unique worldview and relentless search for her relationship to “belle.”
Jane's first travel book, Love, Tupelo, releases in the Fall of 2011. It's an insider's tour of Tupelo through the eyes of a woman who's got Elvis in her blood. All the must-see stops, cool venues and interesting Southerners make an appearance. It's a witty, deep-fried walk through one of the South's hidden gems.
