Lila Fox
Hidden St. Tammany
Born and raised in Acadiana, Lila graduated from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Not unlike many young folks at that age, she simply craved new experiences, places, and people. So she packed up her few belongings and moved out West.
Over several years, she grabbed every opportunity that presented itself. Wherever the next big chance was, she was the first in line. Although there were many personal sacrifices along the way, the tradeoff was an immense knowledge she would not have otherwise gained about the world around her, about business, people and cultures, and most importantly about herself.
The beautiful consequence of the often-difficult life of a traveling consultant is the actual act of travel and all that comes with it – sampling regional cuisine, discovering a plethora of new places, and meeting many remarkable people. Lila realized what a treasure she was given, so she began to write about her experiences to share with friends and family who in turn shared with their friends and family. Writing soon became a passion rather than simply a hobby, and Lila quickly began to distinguish herself as a forthright travel and food writer.
After nearly a decade of traveling the U.S. and living in Colorado, Nevada and Vancouver, British Columbia, Lila moved home to South Louisiana. She thought she knew the place she called home, but after exploring the area with a brand new set of eyes, ears, and taste buds she realized she hadn’t yet scratched the surface. Call it age, call if perspective, Lila came to appreciate this spot as a place like no other in the country with its own food, dialect, culture, and music, beckoning to be shared. And so she added a familiar yet still new subject to her writing repertoire. Though she has seen many places, she is quick to tell you there is nothing that feels quite like South Louisiana.
Lila currently resides along New Orleans’ Northshore in the charming town of Madisonville with her husband. She continues to work together with small business owners and nonprofits and is also working as a travel writer on a number of projects.
